Preparation for  Studying Bagavad Githa

We have to remember one important thing. All chapters of Githa cannot be equally understood by all. Advise should be given according to capacity of the receiver.  Depending upon our enthusiasm to learn, moral readiness, and our intelligence, we will be able to to understand Githa. We may not be able to comprehend beyond our ability and capacity. Similarly, a sentence or an incident; we may not understand at the first or second instance. If we reject the the Book, because we did not comprehend or we did not agree with what is said - the loss is ours. It is better to understand what we can, critic the same and this will help us understand at higher levels. For our reading to be successful, patience and faith are the essential preparation. Mahatma Gandhi has said that Githa was like his Mother. If we do not have the faith as of a child in his Mother's words or the food she serves, we will not be able to get the benefit of the essence of this great Book.

The subject of Githa is sensitive, full of difficulties and to teach the same, an orderly structure which takes you step by step, is required. It is impossible to to explain everything in a single step, or in a single sentence, for ordinary people like us. Life philosophy is like a huge mountain. Person who is ready to climb this mountain should be ready to climb step by step, take rest in between, enjoy the scenery in between. Urgency is not required here. There is  danger of mis -understanding the content. Serenity, patience - are the two qualification that are essential for a student of Githa.

Introduction

Every individual has a natural wish to live in an exemplary way. What is good in life? which is beautiful? Which is worthy? What is good? how to make life beautiful?. Those who want answers for all the above questions, the ideal book is  to read Bhagavad Githa. What is life, what is the relation between life and the world, what do you mean by God, what is the relationship between God and the individual- the answers to such questions can be found in this Book.

Bhagavad Githa is called as Moksha Shastra by our elders. It is moksha shastra as well as a guide to life itself. A temple has sanctum sanatorium,Mukha mantapa (the chamber in front of sanctum), Pradakshina patha (space for circumambulation). There could be a devotee who could climb the main gopuram and touch the kalash on the pinnacle, but there will be 999 devotees who will be satisfied by seeing the deity and partaking the holy prasadam. Similarly, if one individual gets the benefit of Mokshopadesha, there are 999 individuals who are benefitted by the ordinary Dharmopadesha. Not only the scholarly, but the  ordinary individual;the lowly;well placed; men, women can also improve their life gradually through the understanding of the Bhagavad Githa. For each men and woman, respect in life, enthusiasm in their task, confidence in difficulty, and the belief at the time when one gets the doubt - these are the wealth that can be garnered from the Bhagavad Githa.
